Wood Fencing
Wood Fencing Offers Countless Affordable and Natural Styles to Compliment any Property
Perhaps no material offers as many options for fencing as wood. Wood is timeless and can be crafted in to traditional or ultra-modern styles. This allows a homeowner or business owner to match the style they want within their budget. At Fence-It we specialize in custom wood fencing and have been building and repairing wood fences in North Central Florida since 2005.
While wood fencing has had a reputation for being somewhat high maintenance, improvements in the quality of pressure treated woods has added new life and longevity to traditional wooden fencing. At Fence-It, we choose to use wood that is treated using a new technique called “EcoLife”. This innovative method of pressure treating wood does an excellent job of resisting warping, cracking, and splintering better than other forms of pressure treating such as Alkaline Copper Quaternary or (ACQ). While it is being treated for bug resistance, it is also injected with a weather resistant. This makes for a wooden fence that is not only durable but will retain its great look for years to come.
The Advantages of a Wood Fence Built the Fence-It Way
As we have often said, not all fence contractors are equal or the same. There is a distinct difference in materials and building methods. At Fence-It, we believe the best way to build a fence is to build it on site. We never use prefabricated panels. Prefabricated panels tend to be made of inferior and low-grade wood. Prefabricated panels tend to incorporate staples when attaching pickets to rails. This makes for a weaker fence that will not last over time. Instead, we choose to build on site. Building on site allows our expert installers to follow the contour of your property without “stepping” the fence. This takes longer but is worth it in the long run as it produces a custom look you will be proud of. Building on site also makes for a more durable fence that will better withstand the elements of Florida weather.
Wood Fence Styles to Match any Taste and Budget
The professionals at Fence-It can build virtually any style wooden fence. Our standard size fence is 6’ but we can build your fence to any height as a custom fence. We utilize runners that are 2” X 4” X 8’ and pickets that are 5/8” X 5 ½” X 6’. Instead of staples, we only use double galvanized ring-shank nails that are corrosion resistant and do an excellent job of providing strength and stability. Our gates utilize a powder coated metal frame to eliminate sagging and warping and larger posts for gates ensure your gate will be trouble free.
Here are just a few of the wood fence styles offered by Fence-It:
Privacy Fencing
Privacy fencing from 6’ and higher not only offers privacy but creates a secluded yard setting. If you have a pool, you’ll understand you may not want everyone watching your every move! It’s also a great deterrent to thieves, keeps your kids and pets safely in the yard and will improve property values.
Picket Fence
One of the most charming and inexpensive fence options is a picket fence. There is almost no limit to the styles of picket fences from height, and shape. If you’re looking for a more traditional look the installation of a picket fence may the answer.
2, 3 & 4 Rail Ranch Fence
Rail or ranch style fencing is extremely popular in North Central Florida. You see them daily, usually associated with a horse ranch or farm. While you not own horses or a farm, a rail or ranch style fence may be just what your property needs. This style fence is very affordable and is great for marking property lines. There is a certain rustic charm associated with rail fencing and if you want an added level of security you can always add wire to seal gaps in the fence.
Shadowbox Fencing
Shadowbox fencing has some great advantages over standard board on board privacy fencing. It looks great from both sides so your neighbors will appreciate that! Because of its design shadowbox fences are more durable and will do a better job of withstanding the winds we sometimes experience here in Florida. While attractive and strong, they do allow air and light to penetrate, and will certainly add to your properties value.
Board on Board
Board on board fences are attractive while providing privacy and security. The vertical boards are overlapped. The overlap is usually about 1″ and makes for a great looking and functional fence.
